Terms & Conditions

Confirmation of booking

Your booking is only confirmed after you receive an e-mail confirmation from The Manor House. With your confirmation e-mail, you will receive all relevant information regarding your booking. Upon check-in, you will receive more detailed information about your stay.

Your booking will be guaranteed against a credit card, subject to our cancellation policy. We reserve the right to validate and pre-authorise all credit cards prior to arrival.

Cancellation policy

We understand that cancellations can happen and appreciate if you could let us know as early as possible. Reservations can be cancelled without charge if we are notified 48 hours in advance of arrival (counted from check-in at 3pm) by e-mail. For any cancellation received less than 48 hours prior to check-in, we shall be obliged to charge the full price of your reservation.

For special packages or group bookings of 3 or more rooms special conditions apply which we confirm to you when presenting you with an offer.

Check-in and check-out

Earliest check-in time is 3pm and our reception is occupied until 9pm. In case you require a check-in after 9pm, please kindly let us know and we will find a way to accommodate your request.

Our check-out time is 11am. Should you wish to check-out before 8am. (sometimes there are ferries to be caught!), please tell us on arrival and we will certainly accommodate your schedule.

Payment

We take most usual debit and credit cards except Diners, JCB and Discover. Please check in advance if in doubt.

Gratuities

In principle, we make no service charge, leaving this to the discretion of each guest. For groups of 6 diners or more, a discretionary service charge of 12.5% is added to the bill.

Room prices

Tariffs are per room and include a cooked breakfast. Special packages or group bookings may differ with details to be confirmed upon presenting the offer.

Breakfast and dinner hours

We serve breakfast from 8am to 9:30am. Should you check-out early we can arrange an alternative solution such as continental breakfast or a take-away bag. Dinner is served Tuesday to Saturday from 6:00pm to 8:30pm, times may change / extend during the beautiful summer months.

We strongly advise to make a dinner reservation in advance to avoid disappointment as our restaurant is usually busy.

Room Service / Outside Food

We do not provide room service and hot food is not allowed in our rooms. No outside food shall be consumed in public areas of the hotel due to hygiene and health safety obligations.

Parking

We have a private car park which our guest can use at no cost. There is space for one car per room. We cannot allow oversized vehicles or camper vans. Use of the car park is at your own risk and we do not take any responsibility for damage or theft.

Wi-Fi

We offer free Wi-Fi throughout the property with each room being equipped with a smart television set.

Children

We are accommodating children from the age of 12 years plus. Our rooms are for 2 guests with no possibility for an extra or sofa bed.

Dogs

We have one dog-friendly bedroom. With a charge of £15, one well-behaved dog is welcome by prior arrangement and if our dog-friendly bedroom is available. Dog owners will be responsible for covering any damages incurred by pets staying at the hotels. Dogs are not allowed in public indoor areas which include our dining room, bar and drawing room.

No barrier accesses

We are sorry but as most of our rooms are located on the first floor of The Manor House, these rooms cannot be accessed by people who are unable to climb stairs and may be unsuitable for those with mobility difficulties. Please contact us if you are unsure as to whether our accommodation is suitable for your requirements.

No smoking

In accordance with Scottish legislation, smoking (including but not limited to, electronic cigarettes) is not allowed within the premises. Any guest who smokes or allows another guest to smoke in any of the rooms in the house, will be charged an additional £400 (for additional cleaning and loss of later bookings affected due to odour).

Damage policy

We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the hotel’s property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address. We will however make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum. In severe cases the guest will be liable for any loss of revenue that the hotel suffers while the room is being repaired.

Removal of hotel property

We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of replacing any items that are removed from the premises by them without consent. The charge will be the full replacement amount of the missing item, including any carriage charges. Should the fact that the item is missing come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guests credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.

General rules of behaviour

You must conduct yourself in a reasonable and responsible manner at all times when on Hotel property and must not act in any way which may disturb other guests. If you do not, we may ask you to leave the Hotel and, in that case, you must immediately pay us all sums due.

Possessions

Guests are asked to take care of all possessions as unfortunately we are unable to accept liability for loss or damage to any of your items during your stay.
